EPUB – Apple, Kobo and most other devices & apps MOBI files are compatible with Kindle smartphone/tablet apps and Kindle e-reader devices. EPUB files are compatible with the built-in reading apps supplied by Apple IOS, Google Android and Windows Mobile, and also with the Kobo, Nook and Tolino e-readers and apps. Separate instructions for each format are provided below. There are, broadly speaking, two main e-book file formats: EPUB and MOBI.
